Last Wednesday I got a job interview, and am still waiting on the results of that...
*looks around*
Something tells me I'm not getting it *sigh*

I've resorted to elliptical-ing everyday, which I'm sure is great for my health an' all, but boy is it boring! So I think the mom and I are going to take an exercise class at the local recreation center. I also hoped to join a fencing group this summer to better my...well, everything...for competitions next year (Ah! Senior year!). I actually haven't given much thought to continuing fencing after graduation. In all honesty I would just like to be rated* next year O_o

Aaaanyway, just vegging around, applying for graphic design internships every which way I see them.
I truly wish this entry could have been more interesting or at least partially witty! But, alas, summer life is just not as fun as having something to do during the semesters. However, I do plan on going up to NY in July for a weekend of friends and beach (I'm not gonna lie, it's the main reason I'm on the elliptical everyday :p), and that's really all I'm looking forward to so far. That and my impending 21st ^_^ No drunkenness planned as of yet.

...I fought a dragon bare-handed the other day.

MM

*I doubt I went over this before but in (at least USFA) fencing, you are either rated A, B, C, D, E or U (unrated). I am a U. You can only raise through the ratings by fencing in USFA tourneys and doing well :p Now, while I did considerably well this year (compared to my abysmal start last year), I never fenced in any USFA tourneys (this year)...thus, no rating *sadface*...yet *shifty eyes*

May 4- 4 days 'til Hell. 5 'til Heaven.
Been home for two days, already bored...but super excited I don't have to look forward to more and more school work :)

I'll be in Chile on Friday :)
Departing on Thursday at 5:30pm. Wish me luck. If you didn't already know, I have a phobia of airplanes. Not looking forward to take-off. Trying not to think about it right now or I may get sick. Gonna get nice and drugged up for the flight. Ugh.

On to brighter news, I'm a senior now and this time next year, I will have graduated from college (assuming all goes to plan, but I wouldn't put it past the GD head to screw me over somehow...whore.)

I got a cute, new 'do today. It's at the collarbone, shortened the bangs again. Adorable. And I got sunglasses that I've been needing, um, my whole life. They compliment the 'do nicely.

Again, wish me luck. Pray I don't die of fear >_<

Love you all

If your life was a movie, what would the soundtrack be?

So, here's how it works:
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, etc).
2. Put it on shuffle.
3. Press Play.
4. For every question, type the song that's playing.
5. When you go to a new question, press the Next button.
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool.
7. Don't skip songs.

(1) Opening credits: Amos Lee - Shout Out Loud
(2) Waking up: Juanes - La Noche (hahaha)
(3) First day at school: Carlos Vives - Papadio
(4) Fight song: Mulan Soundtrack - I'll Make a Man Out of You (nice)
(5) Breaking up: Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
(6) Happiness: Dhoom 2 Soundtrack - Touch Me
(7) Life's okay: Rufus Wainwright - Grey Gardens
(8) Mental breakdown: Dhoom 2 Soundtrack - Crazy Kiya Re (what an amusing breakdown track...)
(9) Driving: Juanes - No Creo en el Jamas
(10) Flashback: Backstreet Boys - Shape of my Heart
(11) Getting back together: Ben Folds Five - Brick
(12) Wedding: Right Said Fred - I'm Too Sexy for My Shirt (hell yeah!)
(13) Birth of a child: Aha - Take on Me
(14) Final battle: Tryo - La Revolucion
(15) Death scene: Il Divo - Unchained Melody (Senza Catene)
(16) Funeral song: Ben Folds - Bitches Ain't Shit (Dr. Dre Cover)
(17) End credits: Prince - Kiss

Update
Okay, I'm just updating for the sake of updating.
Let's see...what happened this past semester.
Well, let me just say that I cannot believe I'm going into the second semester of Junior year.

Well, this is what I took:
Environmental Science (meh...)
Weaving & Fibrous Arts (i.e. Silk) (got some neato projects out of this class)
(GenEd) Philosophy (waste of time)
Foundations Seminar (waste of time)
Web Design(again, with the neato projects)
*link at the bottom to see what I created

I survived my first semester living in an apartment. My roomies and I baked. Cooked. Painted wall after wall. Made incriminating videos of us dancing to Soulja Boy...I mean, uh, damn. Don't ask for the video. Also this semester, I joined the swing dancing club and the CCM folk group (they're the people that sing at Mass). And next semester I have fun choice to make in regards to teaching the younglings fencing on Thursday or going to folk group practice, and then going to swing afterwards. Awesomeness. Oh well: If there's one thing I have learned in college, it's that sleep doesn't matter on Thursday nights. Especially when you have only one class the next day. And an easy one at that :p

Things to look forward to in '08
Hopefully a spring break in Chile
Searching for a summer internship
(Hopefully, maybe, possibly getting rated in foil? Please? Probably not.)

I believe I'm here until January 6th- hoping for fun with some high school friends.

HP Quiz- cuz i have nothing better to do!
I was probably feeling frisky when I answered these questions...I'm much more of a goody two-shoes gryffindor or quiet nerd ;)

What's Your Reputation at Hogwarts? (26 different characters)

Crazy Outspoken Psycho (Who's Original In Every Way)
House: Hufflepuff
Best Friend(s): Blaise, Fred, George, and yourself.
Gryffindors
Harry: Thinks you hate him ever since you called him a "creep". (And is still a little upset that you never gave Cedric the chance to ask you to the Yule Ball so he could go with Cho).
Ron: Likes that you don't bow down to Harry and that you wear whatever you want without being so self-consious.
Hermione: Is envious of your hair. She loves how you color it, keep it shiny and tamed, and how you do it. Her favorite of your hair styles was your "Hot Pink Streaks" style.
Oliver Wood: Has dreams about meeting you in person and falling head over heels for you immediately.
Fred and George Weasley: Are your best friends and sidekicks. You assist them in every way possible, and vice versa.
Seamus Finnigan: Likes that you wear different colored clothes and don't bother to always match but somehow manage to look great.
Neville Longbottom: Thinks you're a little loopy but is still kind to you.
Dean Thomas: Always compares his girlfriends to you.
Ginny Weasley: Helped you add blue dye to your hair one day because she wanted to find out if you were actually that cool in real life.
Parvati Patil: Copies your style profusely and relentlessly.
Padma Patil: Secretly hates you ever since you mistook her for her sister and called her a "brainless fashion robot".
Hufflepuffs
Cedric Diggory: Was going to ask you to the Yule Ball but was cut short when George and Fred ran up to with a new idea for their shop and you excused yourself excitedly.
Ravenclaws
Cho Chang: Is upset that Cedric only asked her to the Yule Ball as a last resort, but still accepts the fact that you're much better looking than she could ever hope to be.
Slytherins
Draco Malfoy: Wants to be able to express himself like you. He wishes he didn't have to care what other people of him and could just say "I don't give a fuck," with as much ease as you do.
Crabbe: Is attracted to your bright hair and clothes.
Goyle: Likes your really long eye lashes.
Pansy Parkinson: Wishes she had beauty like yours.
Marcus Flint: Likes your taste in music (electronic, indie, alternative) and almost mustered up enough courage to ask you to a concert.
Blaise Zabini: Is one of your other closest friends because you got him to open up. He confessed everything to you and even cried a little on your shoulder, and you two are the best of friends.
Teachers
Dumbledore: Has no doubt that you'll take your creativity to all new levels as you mature. (as in get older, not more... motherly).
Professor McGonagall: Is proud, but watchful, of your ambition.
Professor Flitwick: Likes you, but doesn't know you too well.
Professor Trelawney: Asks you for your opinion on everything she does.
Professor Snape: Loves how you brighten the room, but hates how you attract the attention.
Filch: Envies you for having so much fun at school.

It's finally here!
I'm counting down the hours, and am so anxious and excited to get this book into my hands once and for all!

Just going to go over my final thoughts about what I think will happen...

People:
Harry will live. (and won't be a horcrux)
Voldemort will die. (duh!)
Harry & Ginny will get together.
Ron & Hermione, copy and paste.
Snape, I luv ya, but I think it's your time to go...even though I do think you're ultimately a good guy.
I'm worried for Hedwig- in CoS, there is one (maybe 2 in the series) reference to her flying like a ghost. (and that worries me *_*)
Hagrid, I'm betting he'll be an unfortunate casualty.
I'm going to go with Emerson (from Mugglenet) on this, I too think that with the sheer number of Weasleys, that at least one of them is going to be off'd. I'll put my bet on either Arthur or Molly.

Horcruxes:
I think Mundungus, after raiding Grimmauld Place, sold/gave the locket to Aberforth; the Hufflecup will be in that vault that we see the trio falling out of (?) on the British cover; and my guess is that there is a sixth Ravenclaw relic that they need to find. And, of course, Nagini. Poisoned by a rat I hope (a rat by the name of Wormtail, perhaps?)

Miscellaneous:
Zomg, can't explain the dragon on the Deluxe cover- maybe they find it in Gringotts after they raid that Hufflepuff cup vault?

I'll keep updating with my theories through the day if I remember!

I've been a Harry Potter fan since late November 2002. I remember so clearly how it was that I got into this incredible series; how I was actually introduced to it so many years before, and didn't even know how much of a fan I'd become years later. I'm sad that within a day or two, this series will come to it's conclusion in my mind, and that I will no longer get to hang out in bookstores until midnight to get the next book that continues Harry's journey! I think every fan will agree when I say that I am not looking forward to the void that'll be left when I read the last word on that final page. I am, though, moved that Harry even entered my world. Back before he entered my world, never did I think I would spend so much of my time and energy invested in this boy wizard...how I could get so emotionally invested in a *story*! And I thank J.K. Rowling, through her writing, for driving me to feel that way!

June 6th
Literally everyone and their mom has their birthday on June 6th :p
So, I'm posting this now before I forget (due to the craziness of tomorrow- I made my mommy's cake! Mandarin orange cake, mmmmm)

Here's wishing Happy Birthdays to-
My Mommy!
Charlie's Mommy!
Meghan Ryan!
My cousin, Erin!
and one of my many loves, Jason Isaacs *drool*!

So far this summer, I went to Jamestown and Baltimore, signed up with a recruiting agency (basically, they find the jobs for me), and...yeah, that's basically it- in over a month of being home! Go me, and my lack of motivation :)

I'm currently trying to work up the courage to confirm that I'll go to my friend's wedding. It's in Michigan, and a normal person wouldn't find anything wrong with flying a few hours to a state they love to watch one of their best friends get married at a medieval-esque castle

-but I can't possibly be normal, now can I?

I've had a fear of flying (aeronausiphobia...look it up, if you care to) since as far back as I can remember. It's absolutely flipping me out that flyin is the only method for my family to go to MI (my mom and brother refuse to be in a car for 13+ hours). I tested out a valium yesterday to see if it could calm my nerves (my brother and dad have entertained the thoughts of just drugging me :p), the thing is though, it didn't do much- I was calm to begin with! Next I'm trying to hypnotize myself out of it. I'll let you know how that goes... I don't know, I keep telling myself that the worst thing that'll happen is that I'll get sick, but I'd really, really rather not let that happen. *sigh*

I only mentioned it, as it might be on the schedule this summer. So is an art history class at NOVA (joy...)

VT
I'm still a little shocked about what happened.
Although all of my VT friends were safe, my roomie and one of my dearest friends (a former Hokie) each had a friend who was not so lucky.
It's so surreal when you read the numbers of victims, but even more heartbreaking when you read about each person who lost their life that day. These were sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, fathers, mentors, family, and friends. It's sickening that it could have been *any* college campus. And it is still sobering that this hit so close to home at a fellow Virginian university (where I'm sure we all know at least one person).
Keep everyone at VT, their friends, and family in your prayers.

Christmas Woes
I had a wonderful Christmas (got a lot of fabulous gifts!).
One gift I wasn't expecting was a lovely 24-hour flu (courtesy of my dad having it the night before). I couldn't even count how many times I visited the bathroom (if that could be put any more delicately, then I don't know how :p)... but before I got sick, my Christmas dinner was delicious! Ha!
But I'm feeling much better now, and I'll be hopefully eating solid foods tomorrow :) As well as going to the mall to start spending some gift cards ^_^

Jack (formally Andy) is such a wonderful dog! :D Poor kiddo made so many vet visits within the first week or two of us having him! Besides his neutering, he caught kennel cough, and perhaps lyme disease :( You wouldn't even know he was sick at all, given how happy a puppy he is! What a great dog :) I'll try and post more pics soon.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and holiday break!

I'm craving a soda now...

MY NEW DOGGIE!!
Ok, so...long story-
We didn't get Butter, but neither did the other family- Butter didn't seem ready for his "forever home" just yet.
Well, on Saturday morning, my dad went onto the Fairfax Co. Animal Shelter website, found "Andy," and both he and my mom got to the shelter when it first opened. We almost lost him to another family, but they decided that he just wasn't right for them. *phew*

We haven't picked a new name yet (my brother detests pet names ending in "ie" or "y", and personally I'm not to fond of the name for a dog (not that I don't like the name in general :p))

So yes, I AM SO EXCITED TO MEET MY NEW DOGGIE ON WEDNESDAY AFTER MY LAST EXAM!!

Doggie!
^_^
With Daddy!
With Mommy

My first and harder of two exams was this morning, so now I'm psyched that I don't have to worry anymore (my second and final exam is just multi-choice). I was practically in a state of euphoria after 9am (when my exam ended) that I cleaned my room, packed my bags, and cleaned my desk off!

On other news, I remembered that I forgot to say that I got a hair cut over Thanksgiving break... Yup, it's much much shorter :) And I'm used to it now.

What's New
~The work-load is piling up, but miraculously, I'm keeping on top of it all!
Monday: 4 themed, mounted prints for photography
Tuesday: Powerpoint presentation on Jules Cheret (design meth); Poster (comp graphics)
Wednesday: 12 mounted prints for final photography portfolio
Thursday: Poster about Jules Cheret (design meth)
then...
Monday (11th): Anthropology exam
Wednesday (13th): GPsych exam (then I can come home!!!)

~I applied for a lease for an apartment near school- I *highly* doubt I'm getting on-campus housing for next year (my wait-list # was 625)

~I think I'm deciding to declare a BFA in Graphic Design. It's the only way I can stay at JMU and also pursue the degree that I want. Preferably I would have designed my own major- a BA in Graphic Design- that would allow me to pursue one or two minors (Anthropology and/or dance/theatre). Of course, with my luck, the graphic design department head happens to be a psycho-bitch and has made it more than impossible for me to go about my education the way that I want (...it's *my* education, bitch, get over it! Lest you not forget, it's *my* money going into your paycheck- you damn well better let me do as I please! grr). *Rant over* So unfortunately, I am already going to be spending an extra semester (at least) at JMU...*sigh*

Although, this may all seem like irksome news (and for the most part, it is :p) I don't feel at all bitchy. I'm quite content with life, and that is because Christmas break is oh-so close. But wait, it might get better!...

~I might be getting a new dog *squee* His name's Butter (take a look!), and he seems like such a sweetheart from his picture!

Keep your fingers crossed for my family!

Now I'm just update for the sake of updating... I don't think I have anything new to talk about.

Had a good Halloween/Halloween weekend :) I was a pirate. Argh.

I'm going to Alabama this weekend- after my 8am tomorrow I should be off. 6-8 hour car ride, I'm sure. Damn aeronausiphobia.

And apparently auditions for the musical are on Sunday at 1pm...*another Damn* I don't know what time I'll be back from 'Bama on Sunday, but I'm sure if I can give my dad the "eyes," we might be able to leave at 7, which could get me back in time...no matter how tired I am for the auditions. Blagh.

Who makes auditions on a Sunday?! Bastards, all of them!

Um, had an interesting...er, episode with my stage combat buddy (who I mentioned in the last entry). That's about as far as I'll go with that piece of information on a public journal ;) But that was quite a few weeks ago.

And I miss canine companionship- I find myself jealous of everyone who gets to see their dog still (not to mention, there's a facebook group along the lines of "I love college, but I miss my dog"), and long for next time when I too can wrap my arms around a be-tailed family member. *sigh* I guess it doesn't help that I also watch YouTube videos of dogs.

Started my Christmas list. Another Powerpoint presentation :) I had a birthday list powerpoint that was pretty much amazing. So I decided to make another.

Ah yes, on Thursday (pre-Halloween), I went to a corn maze. It was fun an' all, but I think it the excitement would've been heightened if there were far less people in my group. We also went on a hay ride (the "southern roller-coaster," our driver said). We passed by a huge, but equally (if not more) cute, beaver, waddling from the woods into the maze. ^_^

So, there you have it- I expected not to right anything at all, and ended up writing quite a few snippets of life thus far from my previous entry. :p

Update!
Geez, when was the last time I posted?

I started up fencing again last week, and am having a blast. I've also taken up Stage Combat- which is just off to the side during the regular practice times :) It's so fun! I'm pretty sure the guy teaching it intends to start a performance group (Pirates! Whee!)

Art classes (Photog, Design Meth, and Comp Graph) are going pretty well, as are Psych and Magic/Witchcraft Class (it's an Anthropology class). I hope I can maintain good grades. *cross fingers*

Had a nasty "stomach" thing last night. It came out of the blue, though I just happened to have some Ginseng pills last night during dinner for the first time (my problem arose not to long after that). Anyone understand where this might be coming from? I just can't explain it (er, I should elaborate...Wiki didn't have any of the Ginseng side effects I was experiencing). I don't know...though I do know my lesson is to never take caffeine pills ever again.
Perhaps it was more for dieters than it was for people just wanting extra energy...if you get my drift.

And on that note: Tata

MM

Edit: So, I picked up the campus newspaper today and took a look at the headline and stopped in my tracks. It's about the recent e. coli in spinach report in news. It reminded me about my interesting "stomach" problems yesterday, and how last week I ate a spinach salad, a day before they started reporting the outbreak...I could be overreacting, but, I mean, I had the same symptoms...*sigh* I hate eating things that are supposedly good for you and then screw you over ;p lol

And dark at points, and sometimes sad ;) But it's the best movie I've seen in a while. I was so close to crying at points because of the topics it touched on, and yet ended up crying because I was laughing so hard! Now, THAT's a movie! Argh! So much to say... Just go see it!

Hello, everyone!
How's your vacation a-goin'?

Mine goes well. I didn't get the job, which is all fine and well, as I don't think I really wanted it!

I went back to my dermatologist, 'cuz the Amnesteem (Accutane)- she failed! I was prescribed 3 more drugs- a new oral (Solodyn), and 2 topicals (Differin and Klaron).
If I say so, the Differin is ever-so-skillful at relieving my face of its skin ^_^

So I hear my parents are planning a vacation for late August. It will most likely be to a Virginian coast. I also found evidence of their looking at a cabin in Chincoteague (Yay! Ponies!)...But I'm sure I'll find out more as we get into August.

It's official- I'm an addict of YouTube. I just can't stop watching the damn videos!! And the blogs! My God, the BLOGS! They're so addictive!

The parents and I went to Annapolis a couple weekends ago. I also officially am addicted to crab *Mmmm, crab cakes and crab salad* We also looked at GRREAT's dogs and filled out several forms (so...many...forms) to adopt one. We're one home-visit (and perhaps a few interviews) away from being approved- as their adoption process is quite long (from 1-6 weeks).

Char's "birthday party," about a week ago, was *ahem* interesting. That's all I will say about that.

Sophomore year is a mere 30-some days away, so I'm getting excited for that- international dorm (yay!) and interesting classes (yay...).

Now, I'm out of things to write about.
So I take my leave!

Happy Birthday to me!
Yay for turning 19!

I had a fun trip to the mall yesterday, where I just picked out clothes I wanted :) This isn't a tradition- I just really didn't know what I wanted this time around. I had fun trying on some very cute, very expensive sunglasses that I ended up not getting, which is quite fine as they were muy, muy, muy caro! Had an embarrassing dinner at Coastal Flats which resulted in a future free meal...that's as detailed as I'll get on that matter :p Saw Nicole (O.) working at H&M :)

Ah yes, my Computer Graphics midterm turned out quite well (perhaps an A, I don't know). I can always improve my grade for the final if I don't like my current grade.

Guess what the next-door neighbors got? A Golden Retriever puppy! I'm utterly jealous, and it's making my mom and I heighten our efforts toward getting our own GR puppy. We've thought of names too :) Rufus for a boy, Abigail (Abby/Abs/Abilicious/Gail) for a girl. Comment with any more cute names if'n ya like!

That's all I can think of for right now ^_^
